2012 TEXAS HIGH POINT AWARD RULES
NTASHA (North Texas American Saddlebred Horse Association), TASHA (Texas American Saddlebred Horse Association), and SASHA (San Antonio American Saddlebred Horse Association) are proud to be the sponsors of the 2012 Texas High Point Awards. The Texas High Point Awards Banquet will be hosted by a rotation of the above three clubs and will be presented early in the following calendar year (the date depending on what the hosting club picks).A listing of the current points can be found on www.texassaddlebreds.com under Texas High Points.
High Point Awards are earned by the following High Point System which will be kept by Janie Hamilton.
Horses in performance classes must be purebred American Saddlebreds registered with
ASHA, ASHA of Canada, or ASHA of Great Britain. The owner of the horse must be a
member of NTASHA, TASHA, or SASHA. If a horse is being shown by a junior exhibitor
(that is a member of NTASHA, TASHA, or SASHA), but the horse is owned by the parents
(who are not a member of NTASHA, TASHA, or SASHA) the horse will not be eligible.
Please get a family membership.
Riders in equitation classes must be members of NTASHA, TASHA, or SASHA.
In the Academy Performance Division, the rider is judged on the riders' horsemanship
and the overall picture of the rider and horse. Therefore (as of 2011) the rider must be
a member of NTASHA, TASHA, or SASHA.
In the Academy Equitation Division, the equitation rider is judged on basic equitation
skills. Therefore the rider must be a member of NTASHA, TASHA, or SASHA.
The Texas High Point Awards calendar years runs from December 1, 2011 until
November 30, 2012.
If you join one of the three clubs by March 1, 2012, your points will be accumulated for
the whole calendar year. If you join after March 1, your points will count starting on the
date that you joined and will continue until the end of the calendar year.
Both qualifying classes and championship classes will be awarded points.
Points are awarded according to the number of ribbons and the number of the horses in
the class.
Qualifying Classes are awarded as follows:
6 Ribbons with 6 or More Horses in the Class
1st Place - 6 Points
2nd Place - 5 Points
3rd Place - 4 Points
4th Place - 3 Points
5th Place - 2 Points
6th Place - 1 Points
6 Ribbons with only 3 Horses in the Class
1st Place - 3 Points
2nd Place - 2 Points
3rd Place - 1 Point
Championship Classes will earn 3 bonus points per placing along with the regular points and are awarded as follows:
6 Ribbons with 6 or More Horses in the Class
1st Place - 6 Points + 3 = 9
2nd Place - 5 Points + 3 = 8
3rd Place - 4 Points + 3 = 7
4th Place - 3 Points + 3 = 6
5th Place - 2 Points + 3 = 5
6th Place - 1 Points + 3 = 4
8 Ribbons with only 3 Horses in the Class
1st Place - 3 Points + 3 = 6
2nd Place - 2 Points + 3 = 5
3rd Place - 1 Point + 3 = 4
